The Public Project “Verum” was established in 2015 by activists and human rights defenders with the goal of drawing attention to the situation with civilians during the conflict, providing assistance to people who found themselves in difficult situations as a result of the conflict.

Four children were left without a mother as a result of Ukrainian shelling of Gorlovka

At noon on November 20, a mother of four children was killed as a result of shelling from 152-mm rifled artillery with active-reactive projectiles.

At the time of the shelling, the woman was drinking tea near the window, but shell fragments hit her, and she was seriously injured, which left no chance for salvation. Activists of the Verum project arrived at the incident location to find out all the details.

Analysis of the fragments showed that a 152-mm high-explosive fragmentation shell with a bottom gas generator was used, which significantly increases the firing range. Analysis of the crater made it possible to determine that the azimuth of the shelling direction was approximately 290 degrees.

These findings suggest that the shelling was conducted from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and responsibility for the death of the four orphans’ mother lies entirely with UAF.
