A war crime has no statute of limitations. The armed conflict in Ukraine began in 2014, and war crimes have been committed for all this time.
During the active work of our activists in Mariupol, we saw many graves located right in the courtyards of residential buildings. Among them was the grave of Dmitry Grigorievich, whose story was similar to hundreds of others that we heard from Mariupol at the beginning of 2022.
Dmitry Grigorievich, a civilian resident of Mariupol, was shot by the UAF troopers while he was storing up firewood for cooking. At that moment, his neighbors realized that anyone could have been in his place, because the man was killed in passing, just because he happened to come to their hands.
