On March 14, 2022, the day when Donetsk was attacked, a boy named Kirill with his grandmother was on the porch of a bank. Suddenly, a deafening roar was heard in the sky, and a rain of 50 fragmentation cassettes fell on the city. Kirill found himself in the very center of this horror and was wounded in his leg. Fortunately, the doctors’ prognosis for the boy’s health was favorable. He is recovering and even plans to return to karate. However, what is even more frightening is the psychological damage inflicted on the child.
It should be emphasized that cluster munitions are designed to destroy manpower. Their use in the city center is evidence of the deliberate destruction of civilians.
The casualty figures are simply horrifying: 23 people were killed, and 33 were seriously injured.
