Natalia, a resident of Dzerzhinsk (now Toretsk), shared another story about the terrible events she had witnessed. According to her, in the house where she lived, there was a strong basement in which people hoped to hide from the war. However, members of the Ukrainian armed formations did not agree with this plan and decided to occupy the basement themselves, killing its inhabitants.
“There were old people, women and men there. They shot the men and abused the women for a long time. All the residents of the settlement heard this. The women screamed for a long time, then there were shots, and then silence fell,” says Natalia.
